VIENNA, Mo. (KSDK) –

Joshua Evans, 27, had been on the run for two years. Officers initially found him on Friday during a traffic stop, where they found suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

As a deputy took one suspect into custody, Evans fled on foot. Officers chased him several hundred yards into a wooded area, before subduing him with a Taser. He was later taken by EMS to a local hospital because he claimed to have swallowed crystal meth, heroin and Xanax.

Evans is wanted out of multiple counties for various drug charges (including possession of opium and manufacture methamphetamines), traffic violations in Wentzville and contempt of court for fraud in Eureka.

Evans faces additional felony charges for resisting arrest and drug violations in Maries County. He is currently being held in Maries County Jail.
