COLUMBIA, Ill. (KSDK) - Local schools hope a home-grown app will help them if they ever have to deal with an emergency.
Schools in Columbia will test the app on Tuesday. It allows teachers to press a panic button if there's ever a crisis – like a school shooting. This would send an alert to all on and off-duty police, firefighters and other first responders in the area.
Tuesday's drill won't any involve students – instead, it will only include teachers and staff.
