ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – An AMBER and regional alert has been canceled after a 1-year-old boy was found safe in an abandoned vehicle in south St. Louis.
A S.A.R.A.A. (St. Louis-Area Regional Abduction Alert) was issued Monday evening after Tristian Readye went missing. He was last seen in a stolen vehicle in the 2900 block of Patterson Road near Florissant, Mo around 8 p.m., according to St. Louis police. The car was left running and unlocked when it was taken, according to police.
The vehicle -- a yellow 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Missouri registration UJ1R7A -- was last seen traveling northbound on Wiethaupt Road.
That very vehicle was discovered near Broadway and Illinois Monday night around 10 p.m. with the infant still inside sleeping. Readye was in the backseat of his mother's car when he went missing. She had gone into a store on Patterson and left him.
Many people received the AMBER Alert at 10:55 p.m., which is more than 30 minutes after the child was found. According to a spokesman with the St. Louis County Police Department, the child had not yet been identified by family members, which is why the alert was sent.
Nobody has been taken into custody.
