ARNOLD, Mo. (KSDK) – A man is in custody after allegedly touching a woman inappropriately inside a grocery store and later trying to kidnap her 4-year-old son in the parking lot.
It happened on Monday morning at the Arnold Schnucks. A mother and her two children were shopping when 41-year-old Bryan Griffaw started following her around the store, before patting her butt and walking away.
Later, he followed the victim out to the parking lot as she was loading her two kids into the car. Police say Griffaw grabbed her 4-year-old son by the hood of his shirt, leading the mother to call for help and prompting bystanders to call police.
Griffaw ran away from the scene, but police were able to take him into custody a short distance away, near the Eagle Bank.
He is charged with third degree assault and attempted kidnapping, and his currently being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
