BALLWIN, Mo. (KSDK) – A shout-out to Crestview Middle School student Claire Raney for putting together an award-winning anti-bullying video.

The 7th grader's video – which she posted on Instagram – won the national Voice Against Bullying contest. She won an iPad Mini for her efforts.

"People shouldn't bully," she said. "I don't understand why do people do that. But I feel like if we start doing this stuff and more people hear about it, then I think it will put an end to bullying."

In addition to the iPad, she won a year of the Cyber Bully Hotline for Crestview – a product that normally costs a district $1,000. Students can call or text the number to report bullying.

It opens in August.
