ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Westbound Interstate 70 will be closed this weekend between the Poplar Street Bridge and Pine Street for roadwork in preparation for the CityArchRiver project.
The closures start at 8 p.m. Friday. The Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of eastbound I-70 at a time, with full closures for up to 15 minutes. All lanes are expected to reopen by noon on Saturday.
Crews are installing girders over the interstate for the new Walnut Street Bridge.
The interstate will detour onto northbound Memorial Drive and continue on 34rd Street to the ramp to westbound I-70 at the Martin Luther King Bridge.
The Eads Bridge will be closed at the same time as I-70 to ensure that traffic moves smoothly, according to a news release from MoDOT.
