ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KSDK) – A St. Charles mother has been charged with felony child endangerment after her 10-week-old son was found dead in a bedroom while supposed to be in her care.

The child's father returned to their home in the 3600 block of Fairview St. on July 18, where he found Lindsay Yoder on the couch, acting disoriented and barely responsive. She had been entrusted with taking care of their infant son, and could not tell the father where he was, according to a probable cause statement.

The father later found the child laying on his back in the master bedroom, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, and found to have considerable blanching on his chest and stomach area, indicating that he had been lying on his stomach when he died -- and could have been dead for up to two hours before his father found him.

While in the emergency room, hospital staff say Yoder was belligerent with hospital staff, even making the statement "I killed my baby, I am such a f*** up." Ensuing toxicology tests revealed that her blood alcohol level was .261 and there was marijuana in her system.

According to the probable cause statement, she's currently pregnant, and it's unknown if she's abusing more substances.

Yoder has not yet been taken into custody. No additional information was immediately available.
