ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was found dead inside of a building that caught fire early Saturday morning. Police are investigating his death as a homicide.

The fire erupted at approximately 1:30 a.m. in a vacant building in the 5300 block of Queens – near Kingshighway.

After the St. Louis Fire Department extinguished the fire, they found Aairon Sparkman dead inside the residence, who was severely burned to the point where he was unrecognizable. When his body was examined at the morgue, officials found gunshot wounds to his head, chest and leg.

A complete autopsy is scheduled for a later time.
