ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – When it comes to loyalty, few can match the customers of Local Harvest, which runs a grocery store and two cafes in Tower Grove and downtown St. Louis.

When owners said they needed $120,000 to stay open, fans crowdfunded the money on social media.

They met their fundraising goal in less than a week – hitting the goal on Saturday night.

"We were incredibly surprised," Julie Knarr said. "It was outstanding, incredibly heartwarming, the way we had so much support from the community. It happened so fast and it was just really amazing to see all the support coming through."

Most of the money raised came from the sale of punch cards and gift certificates.

The owners plan to use the money to restock their shelves – many of which are filled with organic items from local farmers and growers.
