ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A "For sale" sign hangs outside of the headquarters of a local charitable foundation, in hopes of finding a buyer.

The board president of the Gateway Classic Sports Foundation said the goal is to improve the organization's financial future. Its signature event is its annual football game between historically black colleges.

Last September, Tennessee State faced Central State at the Edward Jones Dome.

Dwindling ticket sales caused the cancellation of the 2014, according to the board president.

The organization has awarded nearly $3 million for scholarships and sports programs in St. Louis.
