WARREN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – A 23-year-old Bellflower man is charged with fatally stabbing two women and seriously injuring his wife and an 8-year-old boy.

Deputies were dispatched to the 26000 block of Humber Road off Highway Y (south of Jonesburg, Mo.) Friday night after a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found Shawn Kavanagh covered in blood. Kavanagh admitted that he had killed two women inside.

Those women were identified as a 22-year-old from Montgomgery City and a 29-year-old from Jonesburg. Both had sustained multiple puncture wounds and lacerations.

Also inside was a 27-year-old woman with four life-threatening injuries and an 8-year-old boy, who had multiple puncture wounds, lacerations, broken bones and a collapsed lung. They were airlifted to nearby hospitals.

As of Saturday morning, the woman was being treated on a ventilator, and the boy is on life-support.

An 18-month-old female was also found unharmed inside the home.

An initial investigation has revealed that Kavanagh and the 27-year-old woman were married but separated. He went to the home looking for his wife, but was told to leave. He then went to his car and came back to the residence with a knife.

Kavanagh is charged with first degree murder, domestic assault, assault, armed criminal action and burglary.

No additional information was immediately available.
