ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KSDK) – County Executive Steve Ehlmann filed for reelection Tuesday, citing economic development and transportation as some of his chief priorities.

Ehlmann was first elected to the post in Nov. 2006, becoming St. Charles' second county executive. Prior to his most recent role, Ehlmann served as the county's director of administration, was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate, and served as a circuit judge for the 11th Judicial Court.

"I filed for re-election to finish what I started. I will continue to advocate throughout the region to ensure we have a strong voice on issues that affect St. Charles citizens including transportation and economic development," Ehlmann said in a news release. "I will continue to work with our leaders in Jefferson City to ensure we get our fair share from the state and they work to solve the issues that threaten our communities."
