ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) – Some much-needed cash may be on the way for the Normandy School District.

Missouri lawmakers gave initial approval Tuesday for a mid-year budget plan that addresses funding shortfalls for schools and social services.

That bill includes $5 million that could prevent the unaccredited Normandy district from running out of money before the school year ends.

The bill needs another House vote before it goes to Senate.
