UPDATE: The repairs are finished, and the landfill has canceled the odor alert.


BRIDGETON, Mo. (KSDK) – Repairs to a thermal oxidizer at the Bridgeton Landfill could cause a slight off-site odor, according to a news release.

The thermal oxidizer treats air from the leachate pretreatment process. The repairs are expected to be done later in the day Saturday.

Last month, a manufacturing well in the South Quarry led to complaints about foul odors from nearby residents.
