WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (KSDK) – No one was injured after four structures caught on fire Sunday evening near the intersection of 52nd and Caseyville Roads.

Three of the structures were vacant houses, and one was occupied. None of the residents were home.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.

Additional agencies had to be called in after the blaze proved to be too much for Washington Park's lone firefighter. Last year, the town's village board laid-off seven firefighters, retaining only an interim fire chief.

State Park, Camp Jackson and Caseyville firefighters were all called in to help contain the blaze.
