O'FALLON, Ill. (KSDK) - After a months-long investigation, a 19-year-old former camp counselor for the City of O'Fallon Parks and Recreation department faces child porn and exploitation charges.

An anonymous tipster told O'Fallon Police on July 19 that Nicholas Cherry might be involved in inappropriate behavior with underage females. Once the allegations came to light, he was fired from his job as a camp counselor.

It does not appear that his role as a camp counselor is connected to the exploitation charges, police said in a news release.

Cherry has been charged with possession of child porn, exposing sexual organs to a child and sexual exploitation of a child.

The O'Fallon Police Department asks anyone who has information about Cherry to contact Det. Carl Walker or Lt. Mick Hunter at (618)-624-4545.
