ST. CHARLES (KSDK) – A man who avoided prison for years because of a paperwork error will have a hearing next month.
Mike Anderson was convicted 15 years ago for his role in the armed robbery of a Burger King in St. Charles. He was supposed to go to jail for 13 years, but because of a clerical error, he was never forced to serve his sentence.
Anderson lived a normal life for more than a decade…before a SWAT team took him into custody last year.
Recently, Anderson petitioned for the Department of Corrections to get credit for the years he was at large. A court has agreed to hear his case on May 5.
