GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KSDK) – Steel workers in Granite City are concerned that South Korea is illegally "dumping" steel products in the U.S. – which could put their jobs in jeopardy.
They say South Korean companies are selling steel products below market value, making it impossible for American companies to compete. Though it hasn't caused layoffs in Granite City yet, the union is concerned it could.
They're calling on lawmakers to launch a formal investigation, and Gov. Pat Quinn is among the expected attendees at the rally.
The rally is scheduled for May 16 at Granite City Civic Park at 20th Street and Delmar Avenue.
