SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in western Missouri say a 65-year-old man confessed to detectives that he killed and dismembered a woman whose body parts were found in and around his trailer home.

The Sedalia Democrat reports a Pettis County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Joseph Arbeiter on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Arbeiter remained jailed without bond and did not have a lawyer.

The remains of 35-year-old Marshall resident Mandy Black were discovered last week at the trailer park where Arbeiter lives near Sedalia. Maintenance workers found two arms in a metal box while cleaning out Arbeiter's trailer because he was jailed on unrelated assault charges. Other body parts were found buried.

According to court documents, Arbeiter told investigators he killed Black early this year.
