GODFREY, Ill. (KSDK) – A 35-year-old St. Louis woman is accused of walking out of the Godfrey, Illinois Wal-Mart with a cart full of merchandise she didn't pay for and running away from deputies before being discovered behind a tree.

Police say Regina Williams walked out of Wal-Mart at about 2:05 p.m. Tuesday with $340 worth of merchandise. A loss prevention officer confronted Williams in the parking lot, according to a news release, but Williams ran away.

Deputies later found her hiding behind a tree in the 6500 block of Godfrey Road, and arrested her on an outstanding shoplifting warrant from Granite City.

Upon her arrest, police say they found additional Wal-Mart merchandise. She was taken to the Madison County Jail, and is currently being held on a $15,000 bond.
