ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Lawn mowing season has barely started, but the St. Louis Children's Hospital has already seen three amputations – or near amputations – involving children who were around a lawn mower.

More than 17,000 children and teens are treated for lawn mower injuries. They can be life-changing, but they're totally preventable.

Beth Schickler, a pediatric nurse practitioner at St. Louis Children's Hospital, joined us on First@Four to explain how to avoid these types of accidents.
