LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – A 17-year-old is dead and three others were injured early Sunday in a crash on Highway 47 west of Linns Mill Road.

It happened at about 1:08 a.m. Police say a 1996 Chrysler driven by 17-year-old Gary French crossed into the path of a second vehicle, hitting it and causing it to careen off the road and overturn, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol's online accident report.

French was pronounced dead on the scene. The two passengers in his car, identified as 17-year-old Dakota Higby and 18-year-old Taylor Little, were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The other driver, 27-year-old John Detjen, also sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
