ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A helicopter camera caught the above video of St. Louis police taking multiple suspects into custody after a pursuit that wound through major roads on both sides of the Mississippi River.

The suspect was taken into custody just before 4 p.m. Wednesday on the ramp from the westbound Poplar Street Bridge to southbound Interstate 55, near the Soulard exit.

Police say undercover officers began following a vehicle driven by a suspect wanted on felony warrants in St. Louis. The driver fled into Illinois, causing Illinois State Police to follow the vehicle in marked squad cars.

Officers deployed spike strips as the pursuit continued back onto the Poplar Street Bridge, but the driver continued to flee until the suspect lost control and bumped into a semi-truck.

No one was injured, and one suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
