ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A mobile reserve officer fired a shot at a suspect who had pointed a gun at police during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

It happened just after 4 p.m. in the area of Marcus and Cote Brilliante.

Police say when the two officers pulled a vehicle over, the driver got out and pointed a gun at the officers.

Fearing for his safety, police say one of the officers fired his weapon at the suspect, missing him. The driver ran away, and a passenger also got out of the vehicle and ran away, leaving a second gun inside.

Both suspects were taken into custody, and no one was injured during the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
