CINCINNATI - An 86-year-old World War II veteran was seriously injured when he was attacked and robbed outside a Cincinnati hospital after visiting his sick wife over the holiday weekend, police said.
Police arrested Craig Phelps, 30, on Saturday on charges of robbery and other counts in the attack on Paul Browning outside Good Samaritan Hospital.
Hamilton County court records show that Phelps also slammed Browning into the wall.
Police allege that Phelps tried to grab Browning's wallet out of his pocket.
Phelps was arrested about an hour after the alleged incident and booked into the county jail.
Phelps is being held on $26,000 bond on charges of robbery, possessing a drug abuse instrument and criminal damaging or endangering.
When taken into custody, police found a needle on him which he said he used for heroin, records state.
