ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – St. Louis police caution fans about purchasing World Series Game 5 tickets from secondary market sources as it could lead to disappointment at the gate.
Police seized three counterfeit tickets from fans at Busch Stadium Sunday evening for Game 4 and arrested five for counterfeit tickets. Police also arrested one person for counterfeit merchandise, according to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Police Department.
More than 50 counterfeit ticket incidents were reported Saturday during Game 3 of the World Series, according to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Here's the message the organization gave fans:
"We want to remind fans to be careful when buying tickets on the secondary market. Unfortunately, we had a number of incidents of counterfeit tickets to tonight's game. Fans should only purchase from trusted sources. Fans may protect themselves by only purchasing tickets through authorized sellers such as cardinals.com or Stub Hub, the official fan to fan marketplace of Major League Baseball."
