EAST ST. LOUIS – A 47-year-old man is held without bond on charges of armed robbery.

Timothy R. Collier, 47 was indicted Nov. 20 on two counts of interference with commerce by robbery, a violation of the Hobbs Act, and two counts of use of a firearm during a crime of violence. He is accused of robbing East St. Louis Jewelry and Loan April 25 and an armed robbery at Arena Liquor in Belleville on July 12.

According to court documents, Collier stole jewelry and a firearm from the jewelry store. He is also accused of shooting the store owner in the chest and head.

Cash was taken from the liquor store.

If convicted of all charges, Collier faces up to 30 years to life in prison. His trial is set for Jan. 27.
