EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – An East St. Louis man has been sentenced for distributing heroin.
Delano Perry, 41, was sentenced Friday to 33 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $200 fine. He pleaded guilty to the crime Aug. 1.
According to court documents, Perry sold 24 grams of heroin to an informant on June 6, 2013. The informant was working with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents.
In 1998 Perry was convicted of distributing cocaine base. He was released from prison in 2012 and was on supervised release for that crime when he committed the heroin offense.
Court documents state the judge noted Perry had been serving his supervised release successfully until his 20-year-old son was murdered.
