ALHAMBRA, Ill. – Three Illinois residents have been charged with residential burglary.
Christopher G. Stufflebean, 25, of Collinsville; Ashley R. Kite, 21, of Collinsville; and Kristen G. Miller, 20, of Caseyville are accused of burglarizing a home in the 5100 Alhambra Road shortly before 2 p.m. Dec. 5.
The owner of the home said he saw a man leaving his home carrying his television.
A few minutes later a Maryville police officer saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's traveling south on Interstate 55/70. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, which was occupied by three people.
The driver of the vehicle refused to pull over. The officer pursued the vehicle for three miles, and then stopped.
Later that day a Madison County Sheriff's deputy found the vehicle parked at a home in the 2600 block of Black Lane in Collinsville. Additional officers responded to the scene and questioned the owner of the vehicle, and the people inside the home. Stufflebean, Kite, and Miller were then linked to the crime.
Kite was taken into custody Dec. 10 at a home in the 500 block of art Street. She was taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail.
Stufflebean was taken into custody on the same day at a home in the 400 block of Clarence Street. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant and transported to the Madison County Jail. Bond for Stufflebean and Kite is set at $75,000.
