FRANKLIN COUNTY (KSDK) – The son of a Franklin County man found dead Thursday night has been arrested, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
Franklin County Sheriff deputies found William Osborn shot in his home in the 1000 block of Osborn Lane in Lonedell after relatives called police concerned about his well being.
After an investigation, deputies found Osborn's son had sold his father's gun to someone in St. Clair, Mo.
Police found and arrested the 33-year-old son in St. Clair, according to the sheriff's department. He later confessed to the shooting.
Deputies also found that guns, a motorcycle and Osborn's truck were missing from his home, according to the sheriff's department. The truck was found in St. Clair, but the guns and motorcycle remain missing.
The son's identity has not yet been released pending charges.
