EFFINGHAM, Ill. – An Effingham County, Ill. resident is accused of killing a Jasper County man who went missing in 2011, and two others are accused of helping her hide the body.

Joseph C. Delaney, 54, disappeared around July 1, 2011. His skeletal remains were found March 10, 2012 near the Embarrass River, north of Newton. Police believe he was killed inside the Colonnade Apartment Complex in the City of Effingham.

Christine Burr, 57, of Dieterich, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of concealment of a homicidal death.

Effingham residents 40-year-old Kristy L. Mathis and 25-year-old Zebadiah R. Houser are each charged with one count of concealment of a homicidal death.

All three suspects are held at the Effingham County Jail. There's no word on their relationship with Delaney.
