COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - Detectives with the Collinsville Police Department are asking for the public's help to find more information about a series of robberies in which the suspects lure victims using proposed deals via Craigslist.

According to a police spokesman, the most recent incident occurred Tuesday night around 8 p.m. at an apartment building on Root Hill Court. The victim told police he reached out to a person selling a TV on Craigslist and the two arranged to meet at the apartment. When the victim arrived and entered the apartment, a second individual in a ski mask hit the victim with a bat and stole his money.

Two days prior, a similar robbery occurred at the same apartment building. The victim in that case was able to escape uninjured.

Police have no suspects in custody.
