ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – One of two former high-ranking St. Louis parks employees will be sentenced Thursday on federal embezzling charges.

Former Deputy Parks Commissioner Joseph Vacca faces up to 20 years in prison for submitting false invoices and using nearly $500,000 in city money for personal expenses. Former Chief Park Ranger Thomas Stritzel faces a similar claim.

Both pleaded guilty in September.

Prosecutors said they bought cars, gas and paid off credit card bills with the money.
