ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged a 39-year-old man Tuesday in connection with the murder of a St. Louis woman, whose body was found in the trunk of a car last week.
According to Leah Freeman, spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, police went to tow a car on the morning of December 20, at the intersection of 3rd Street and Jackson in Madison County, Illinois. Police found the body of 50-year-old Sybil Brandon in the trunk. She'd been shot in the head.
Brandon was last seen before Thanksgiving. She was reported missing on November 29 by her daughter.
Investigators determined Brandon was shot in a home in the 4500 block of Margaretta Avenue in the Penrose neighborhood and then driven to Madison County and abandoned, Freeman said.
The suspect, identified as Glynn Smith, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
