MARIES COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – Maries County Sheriff deputies arrested a 44-year-old Cuba, Mo. man after a 24-hour manhunt for the 'armed and dangerous' suspect.

Jeffrey Eaton surrendered Sunday after leading deputies on a high-speed chase down Highway AA near Vienna Saturday. Deputies investigated Eaton after convicted felon had been found armed and dangerous and they later found a bullet proof vest, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, knives and ammunition.

The chase ended at a farmer's field when Eaton hit a piece of farm equipment and fled into a wooded area between Vienna and Argyle.

Vienna and Belle police as well as Maries County Sheriff deputies searched the area for 24 hours before a citizen found Eaton near his home.

Deputies found him with an AK-47 style rifle, 30 round magazines and a loaded .45-caliber pistol.

No charges have been filed against Eaton, and no further information was available.
