O'FALLON, Ill. – A 54-year-old O'Fallon, Ill. man is accused of robbing a local credit union.
William M. Restoff is charged with one count of aggravated robbery. He's accused of robbing the Scott Credit Union in the 700 block of West Highway 50 at 3:14 p.m. Feb. 19.
Police say Restoff passed a note to a teller indicating he had a weapon, and then ran from the building with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A short time later Restoff, who matched the description of the suspect, was found riding a bicycle in the area. Police determined he was in "possession of incriminating evidence" and was taken into custody without incident.
Restoff is held at the St. Clair County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
