WINFIELD, Mo. (KSDK) - A 30-year-old Lincoln County man was arrested Thursday for allegedly trying to stab a neighbor in his home.
According to a spokesperson for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened in the early morning hours in the 100 block of Robin Wood Lane.
Deputies attempted to contact the person who called the sheriff's office, but that individual did not answer his door. However, deputies could hear someone a few houses down and located the victim there.
The victim told deputies the suspect, Travis Stevens, arrived at his home acting strange and would not leave. When the victim tried to get Stevens to leave, he told deputies Stevens pulled out a knife and attempted to stab him.
The victim grabbed a wooden table leg and struck Stevens in the head.
Stevens left the home, but picked up large landscaping rocks and threw them at the victim, shattering the man's storm door.
Deputies recovered the knife at the victim's home and later took Stevens into custody at his residence.
Travis Stevens was charged with second-degree assault, and remains in custody at the Lincoln County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.
