COLLINSVILLE, Ill. - The Madison County State's Attorney's Office charged the former principal of Collinsville Christian Academy on Thursday with attempted sexual abuse of a student on Thursday.
According to court documents, 57-year-old Robert Lane of Troy, Illinois was arrested following an investigation by the Collinsville Police Department into allegations made by a former student at the school.
These incidents are said to have occurred on campus during regular business hours.
Lane was principal at Collinsville Christian Academy from August 2010 until December 2013.
Lane was charged with two felony counts of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse and jailed on $100,000 bond. Lane later posted bond and was released from custody.
