FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – Franklin County law enforcement officials seized the largest quantity of meth intended for consumption in the country this week.
Det. Sgt. Jason J. Grellner, unit commander for the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit, says three people were arrested in connection to the drugs. Weapons and a stolen vehicle were also seized by police.
Grellner says his department has made bigger meth seizures on the interstate, but the meth seized in this incident was intended to be used in our area. He says in 2013, the number of meth labs in Franklin County dropped by 40 percent.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is involved in the bust, and more people may be arrested.
