MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Madison County deputies arrested a Colorado man for stealing from a Godfrey Walmart this past January.

Troy Linnebur faces a felony charge of retail theft of more than $300.

According to Madison County Sheriff's Department, Linnebur pushed a cart carrying more than $875 past the store's registers without paying. A loss prevention officer attempted to confront the man, but he left the merchandise and left the store on foot. He got into a car and drove away.

Deputies later spotted the car on a Regions Bank parking lot in the same town. Deputies identified Linnebur as the thief and arrested him.

Linnebur is being held in Madison County Jail on $15,000 bond.
