CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KSDK) - Two women stolen merchandise from a store at the Chesterfield Mall, then one of those suspects kidnapped a bystander while attempting to escape from the area, the Chesterfield Police Department said Wednesday.

According to Captain Steven Lewis, a police spokesman, the robbery occurred March 21 around 5 p.m. at the H&M store.

The chief suspect, identified as Cierra Baker, entered the store with a female accomplice, took merchandise and concealed it booster bags. When the pair tried to leave the store, they were confronted by a security guard.

Baker reached into her purse, grabbed a can of mace, and sprayed the security guard in the face, Lewis said.

The two women ran off in separate directions, with Baker fleeing to the parking lot. She accosted a woman sitting in a vehicle, jumped in the passenger seat and took the victim's cell phone. Baker threatened the woman and instructed her to drive to a gas station near Interstate 64 and Big Bend. Once at the gas station, Baker made the victim wait with her until a white vehicle with tinted windows arrived to pick Baker up. The victim was not harmed.

Cierra Baker is described as an African-American female, 22 years of age, standing 5'3" tall and weighing 126 pounds.

Anyone with knowledge of Baker's whereabouts or the identity of the second suspect is asked to contact the Chesterfield Detective Bureau at 636-537-3000 or St. Louis CrimeStoppers at 314-725-8477.
