ST. CHARLES, Mo. – St. Charles police are asking for help identifying a man accused of robbing a BP gas station.

The robbery happened Wednesday at 2:17 a.m. at the location in the 1300 block of S. Fifth Street. The suspect entered the store, purchased cigars, and as the clerk handed the man his change, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the register.

The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then ran from the store, heading east in the 300 block of Ameristar Boulevard.

Nobody was injured.

Police describe the suspect as an African-American man standing around 6'2" tall with a slender/athletic build. He has slight facial hair and was last seen wearing a red billed ball cap covered with a gray hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, dark blue or black cargo-style pants with thigh pockets, and white athletic shoes.
