ST. LOUIS – Two Hillsdale police officers have been charged in relation to drug conspiracy, according to the U.S. Attorney's office for Eastern District of Missouri.
Lieutenant Parrish Swanson and Officer Raymond Stephens face felony charges of conspiracy to distribute and attempted distribution of heroin.
According to court documents, Swanson and Stephens agreed to rip off a drug courier for a suspected drug dealer this month. The suspected dealer agreed to pay the two for their assistance.
While on duty, Stephens robbed the courier of four ounces of heroin, according to court records. He then met with the suspected dealer who gave him $900 in exchange for the drugs.
Stephens gave Swanson $200 of the $900.
FBI agents arrested Stephens and Swanson Friday morning.
The two face up to 20 years in prison and up to $1 million in fines.
