ST. LOUIS – Someone is posing as a St. Louis police officer, and tells residents they are wanted for missing grand jury duty or failing to pay fines.

Thom Gross, public information officer for the 22nd Judicial Circuit of Missouri, says the caller says he is with the St. Louis City Warrants Department, and urges the victims to purchase a money card and call back with the card number to pay the fines.

Joanne Martin, a jury supervisor for the St. Louis Circuit Court, says the program does not exist. She has received phone calls from citizens as well as the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office.

The incidents are under investigation by police.
