A Taney County jury on Monday evening found Windy Friend guilty of two counts of first degree murder in the 2011 deaths of a Willard couple.

Windy Friend's husband, Tony Friend, 45, previously pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of Rusty and Rebecca Porter.

Tony Friend's son, Phillip Friend, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and felonious restraint.

Windy Friend, 32, was indicted by a Taney County grand jury in 2012 for her role in the deaths of the Porters on April 18, 2011.

Court documents revealed little about possible motives or the details of the slayings.

The skeletal remains of the Porters were found in remote Taney County in late July 2011. Taney County Coroner Kevin Tweedy said each had been shot in the head. The couple had been abducted from their Willard home.

Two others, Dusty Hicks and Robert Campbell, still face first-degree murder charges. Trials for both are scheduled this year — Hicks in August and Campbell in October.
