MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Police have arrested two people in relation to the kidnapping and robbery of a Southern Illinois University student on the Edwardsville campus last week, according to campus Police Chief Kevin Schmoll.

Jabreel Watson, of Chicago, Ill., and Shantel Rogers, of Decatur, Ill., face charges of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated kidnapping and a count of burglary, according to Chief Schmoll.

Last week, a man confronted a student near Prairie Residence Hall last Wednesday, according to authorities. The man ordered the student into a car where two other people waited. The group drove around for an unknown amount of time and ordered the student to take $140 from his bank account.

The group also stole $50 from the student that was in his wallet. The student was not harmed.

Police are still searching for the third person, who has not yet been identified, involved in the incident. Authorities are also searching for the car involved in the incident, which is a 2005 White Toyota Camry four-door with an Illinois plate of P894117. The car is described as having tinted windows, sunroof and rear spoiler.

Watson and Rogers are each being held on a $250,000 bond.
