ST. LOUIS COUNTY – One person has been charged after a fatal officer-involved shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Jabari Quarles, 23, is charged with one count of second-degree murder, three counts of first-degree robbery, six counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of felonious restraint.

Police responded to a robbery in progress call at the Check 'N Go store in the 600 block of Gravois Road Wednesday afternoon. When officers arrived two men were leaving the store. Police say Quarles was taken into custody without incident.

Police say the second suspect, identified as 23-year-old Claudell Webb Jr., struggled as officers tried to arrest him. They say he showed a handgun, and out of fear, one of the officers shot Webb.

Webb was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Quarles is held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
