CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - The legal guardians of a 2-year-old boy who died in January have been charged with felony crimes connected to the child's death.

KFVS-TV reports that 33-year-old Jason Wells of Park Hills has been jailed in St. Francois County on a $250,000 bond for a felony child abuse charge.

St. Francois Prosecuting Attorney Jarrod Mahurin says 30-year-old Amanda Wells of Park Hills and 51-year-old Terri Reeves of Bismarck face felony charges of hindering prosecution. Both are free on $15,000 bonds pending trial.

Court documents say the boy died after Jason Wells allegedly threw him to the floor. Amanda Wells is accused of telling another child in the home to lie to police about the 2-year-old's fatal injuries.
