WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – The Humane Society of Missouri wants to know who left a crate filled with kittens on the side of the interstate.

A taxi driver made the disturbing discovery Thursday morning along Interstate 44 in Webster Groves. Thirty-seven tiny kittens ranging in age from two days to 4-weeks-old, crammed into a dog crate. It was originally believed 35 kittens were in the crate.

Some of the cats are sick, some are okay, and some are so young they need to be with their mothers.

The Humane Society is asking that you hold off on calling to adopt the kittens, but they want to hear from anyone who knows anything about where they came from or who put them in the crate.
