CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KSDK) – Chesterfield police have arrested one of their own for recording video in a men's restroom.

Chesterfield Police Officer David Cerna, 33, faces a felony charge of invasion of privacy, according to Chesterfield Police Chief Ray Johnson. Cerna set up a camera in a vent in a Mobil on the Run location, where it recorded men using the facilities, Johnson said during a press conference.

A media investigation tipped off the department that someone had been recording a men's restroom, Johnson said. The investigation found a website where the person had posted video of the restroom, and that lead investigators to a St. Charles County home owned by Cerna.

Three police agencies are involved in the investigation.

Wentzville police became involved when they say Cerna posted an ad on Craigslist inviting straight men to his house for unusual oral sex acts. Up to 60 men came to have sex through a barrier. They never knew a man was on the other side of the barrier.

The St. Charles County Cyber Task force got involved when Cerna posted all his videos on pornographic websites. Computers were recently seized from his home.

"One night I came in here I went in the restroom after him. He took a nice amount of time. He was probably changing the damn tape. Now they've got my name and number and I'm waiting to find out if I'm somebody on one of his tapes and possibly on one of his websites," said one person who comes to the gas station frequently.

Johnson said officers treated Cerna, who is a six-year officer with the department, like any other suspect in an investigation, and that he's no longer employed with their department.

Police are attempting to reach out and identify potential victims.

Cerna is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
